A tiny moth, big chaos.
About the Game#
In Moth Breaks Everything!!, you play a tiny chaos gremlin with wings and one objective: break as much as possible. The jam direction was to lean into momentum, mess, and playful destruction over precision. It is a short arcade-style prototype designed to be readable, funny, and replayable.
Core Loop#
- Fly through spaces and hit fragile targets.
- Build momentum by chaining destruction.
- Dodge hazards long enough to keep the combo alive.
- Push for a better run through cleaner movement and route choices.
What I Built For This Jam#
- A browser-playable arcade prototype with fast restart loops.
- Destruction-first objective design with immediate feedback.
- Tone and presentation centered on mischief and speed.
- Session pacing tuned for short repeat attempts.
Jam#
Submission to Godot Wild Jam #84.
Reflection#
This project was a strong reminder that clear goals plus strong feedback can carry a whole game loop. If I continue this one, I would add more object variety, scoring depth, and map-specific challenges.
Collaboration#
For Moth Breaks Everything!!, my daughter Fae (now 14) was deeply involved in both creative and design work. She contributed to game design, level design, and additional creative direction, and she spent hours learning Blender to model the moth. She also created the title screen and cover art for this project.
